81 Year Old Venue Understands Social Media, Do You?

Since 1932, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has raised millions to support scholarships, educational youth programs, research and more. It is the world’s largest livestock and show that is” dedicated to benefiting youth, supporting education, and facilitating better agricultural practices through exhibitions and presentations.” This 81 year old venue has many traditions that Houstonians attend year after year starting with the modern day trail ride with 3,000 riders. Then there are the concerts, rodeo, livestock show, horse show, carnival, dining and shopping!

Over the years, I have enjoyed watching the Website expand to include all an attendee needs to know before putting on the boots and hat.  And this rodeo appyear they introduced a very robust app with show information, parking, rodeo scores, news, socialize and camera! During the rodeo, reminders were displayed on the huge big screen to download the app, like the Rodeo Facebook page, follow and tweet along using #HoustonRodeo. Whether you understand the trend or not the Rodeo jumped on the bandwagon and produced their own Harlem Shake Rodeo.
