Social Geek Radio celebrated six years of podcasting May 2016! Every Wednesday evening at 8pm Eastern listeners can tune into Social Geek Radio via our Social Geek Radio website, iTunes, 1851 Franchise Magazine and/or SoundCloud.
What started as a nerdy idea with BJ Emerson (Social Geek Radio co-founder and first co-host) to share our love of geeky digital media turned into a passion of sharing tips and best practices on the use of social media in business. BJ’s incorporation of “When In Doubt Geek It” was a big hit with our listeners. Some would tune into the podcast just to hear that segment of the podcast.
Speaking of listeners, in the early years we had some very entertaining discussions in the chatroom with our loyal followers aka SGR groupies (Dana, Lorri, Sarah, and Jay)!
In January 2011, AK Stout Parks officially joined me as co-host and our first guest of the year happened to be Jack Monson discussing social CRMs. AK accepted the role as the geek and continued BJ’s #GeekItOut segment and shared apps and geeky websites weekly. Listen here
Just when I thought I couldn’t record another Social Geek Radio podcast, Jack Monson stepped up and said, “you can’t let Social Geek Radio die!” and volunteered to join me as co-host in March 2014, and implemented some great new ideas.
Six years of amazing co-hosts, guests, apps, inspiration, education, information, and fun!
Do you know someone who would be a great guest? Have an app suggestion we should share? Let us know and send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org so we can share in our #GeekItOut segment.
Thanks for a great 6 years!
